Denim & Stripes

Happy Monday!

How was everyone's weekend? I just got back last night after a weekend away visiting family in Virginia Beach (and escaping the Philly papal madness). This past weekend was the Neptune Festival in VA Beach where sandcastle artists come from all over the world to compete. Unfortunately, due to the rain/wind storm, most of the festivities were canceled (live music, beach vendors, fireworks, etc.), but the sandcastle competition still went on (don't worry, they were under a large tent!). The artists are AMAZING, to say the least.

I wore this denim and stripes outfit on Saturday. During the day, we were out and about shopping and at the ocean front sandcastle competition. This was the perfect outfit choice- stylish and practical. I highly recommend this LOFT striped tee! Stripes are a hot trend this fall, and this tee is comfy and perfect for layering. It's also 40% off, making it only $15.90! I layered the tee with my denim vest from LOFT Outlet. I had trouble finding something similar, but I really like these two- LOFT and Target

What do you all think of metallic shoes? Metallic sneakers are one of the 2015 shoe trends. I wasn't sure about them until I saw these gold slip on sneaks (similar here and on sale!) at the Nine West Outlet. They are comfortable (perfect for a shopping trip) and definitely add a fun flare to any outfit.

I took this outfit from day to night by pairing it with leopard wedges and a dressier purse. Pattern mixing is a little out of my comfort zone, but I love how this outfit came together. It was a great choice for our seafood dinner at a lively ocean front restaurant called "Mahi Mah's."

So, what do you think about these trends- denim on denim, metallic sneakers, pattern mixing, etc.?! Would love to hear your thoughts!

Have a good week and thanks for reading!

Accessorizing a Fall Cardigan

Hey guys!

Hope you all are having a good week so far. It's almost Friday (woohoo!) and the last weekend of September...can't believe it!

I've been anxious to wear this black and white LOFT cardigan and I finally got to this week with the cool mornings we've had! This lightweight, open front cardigan is just adorable. It's comfy, flattering, and has pockets!! There are so many ways to wear it, so I styled it with a few different accessories for you to see...

First, I wore it plain with a black tank top underneath and a long silver necklace. This LOFT necklace is old, but here is a similar one at Kohl's. Any long necklace you have would work well.

Next, I added a gray floppy felt hat. Floppy hats are very trendy this year and add a little warmth in the cooler months! Mine is from Express but here are two similar versions at Nordstrom (for good prices!): Leith Floppy Felt Hat and David & Young Floppy Wool Hat

And finally, to spice up an outfit, you can always add a scarf! I love this red fringe infinity scarf and found an almost identical one for you to shop at Kohl's (also comes in ivory and black)!

Here's a look at the back- I love the length.

For bottoms, I'm wearing my H&M high waist skinny ankle jeans. These jeans are only $9.99! They are fitted and somewhere between jeggings and jeans. They look great with heels and the ankle is skinny enough to tuck into boots nicely.

My Coach bag was a birthday gift from my husband last year. I ADORE it. This burgundy color is one of my favorites and the bag is perfect for fall and winter months. I managed to find someone selling it on, if you are interested in this exact bag. Here are a few other burgundy bags I really like: Kohl's Dana Buchman Satchel and Coach Outlet Small Margot Carryall

My sister and I are off to Virginia Beach for the weekend to visit family. I'm looking forward to getting away and going to the beach one last time this year.

I have some fun and trendy fall outfits coming up, and I hope you follow along!

Have a great weekend,

Gingham and Fringe Booties

Happy Monday!

What did everyone do this weekend? We visited my in-laws and went to a beautiful vineyard and winery in Klingerstown, PA. It was an absolutely gorgeous day and the scenery was stunning.

I love this current button down shirt trend. I can't decide which I like best- plaid, gingham or chambray!? There are so many ways to style these shirts; the possibilities are endless! For today's post, I wore this black and white gingham shirt (so soft and comfy!) with black skinny jeans and fringe heel booties. I love this simple look, but can't wait to layer this shirt with a sweater or vest when the temps are cooler! You can dress it up or down and I think it could be worn with almost any shoe. It would look great with heels, tall boots, peep toe booties, and even sneakers- so many options! My gingham shirt is available at Target for only $22.99.

I was at Marshalls this week and fell in love with these Jessica Simpson fringe ankle boots. You can't beat a good find at Marshalls or T.J. Maxx! I love the taupe color, gold zipper, chunky heel, and just the right amount of fringe. Unfortunately I could not find these exact boots online, but I'll keep checking. I linked similar pairs below at various price ranges!

As you can see, I'm wearing this black crossbody bag, AGAIN. You know you've made the perfect bag purchase when you keep reaching for it because it looks good with just about everything. I adore this purse and can't say enough good things about it! Trust me, you need it. It's a good price with free shipping, and comes in a nice cognac color also!

Easy and Stylish {Early Fall}

Hello everyone!

It's starting to feel like fall this week in Philly! I absolutely love chilly mornings and warm days.

Today's outfit is easy and comfy, but stylish- perfect for lunch or coffee with a friend, shopping, school or meetings, and more.

An open front short sleeve sweater cardigan is the perfect transitional piece into early fall. I bought this olive green one (yes, I'm slightly obsessed with this color right now) last week at Ann Taylor Factory outlet. It is on sale for $20 and comes in several colors! It's so soft and lightweight! Head over there ASAP if you are in the market for a great fall cardigan. If you don't live near an Ann Taylor outlet, I found a very similar one for only $13.97 at Old Navy! I paired this cardigan with an orange lace cami underneath. I love how olive and orange look together and it's the perfect color combo for fall. You could wear any tank or cami under this sweater cardigan and a fall scarf would be a cute (and warm!) addition to the look.

I've had my eye on these Ivanka Trump leopard flats for awhile and lucky for me, my sister, Kim went out and got them (one of the many perks of having a sister)! I HAD to borrow them. They definitely elevate this simple outfit and add a chic flare to it. Leopard shoes are so versatile and look good with any color. These flats are a splurge, but they are beautiful and great quality. I also linked a similar, more affordable version below.

This camel colored Jessica Simpson purse is a great neutral bag and VERY roomy inside (for all of us who carry way too much). I also like the gold accents that give it just the right amount of glitz. It is available on and comes in several colors, some of which are on sale right now up to 40% off. If you like this camel color, keep watching because the price often goes down (yesterday it was 40% off and today it's back up- bummer!).

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Fashion for the Professional

Happy Friday!

After much needed rain yesterday, it is gorgeous in the Philly area today. The cooler temps are starting to feel like fall!

With school and many jobs back in session, I wanted to share a professional look with you all, featuring the popular pencil skirt. One thing I've learned over the years is that the pencil skirt never goes out of style. This fall, they are everywhere! Pencil skirts are the perfect wardrobe choice for many professions. Being that this is the "back to school" time of year, this is a great fall outfit for a teacher. This look would also be good for church, dinners out, interviews and work related events.

I am so excited to talk about this pencil skirt, mainly because of the price! This skirt is currently at Target on sale racks for $7.48!!! I just purchased it a few days ago, so hurry there and find your size! This skirt is lined so it isn't too tight or see through. I like the length and the quality is excellent for the price. If you don't find your size in stores, I linked similar versions from LOFT (40% off with code FALLSTYLE) and Kohl's below.

Typically, I would style a pencil skirt with pumps, but being that booties are so trendy this fall, I gave them a try instead. I love how these Nine West peep toe booties add a unique flare to this outfit! If you live near a Nine West outlet, check these out. They are super comfy and versatile and I love the nude color. I also linked a very similar pair below.

Now, add your favorite colored top and a long necklace, and your outfit is complete! This teal three quarter length shirt is old, but you can get a similar version at a great price at Nordstrom. My gold necklace is from Premier Jewelry. Any long gold or silver necklace you have would work with an outfit like this. And, don't forget a cute purse, like this black crossbody bag!

Thanks for reading and have a blessed weekend!
