The Best Gift Ever

Dress // Similar Tassel Earrings // Lipstick (ravishing ruby) // Ring // Todd's Shirt // Onesie
Today Todd and I (and Jax!!) are so excited to share a little secret with you all...we are expecting a baby this spring!!! I still can't believe it and it feels so surreal to be writing this post! We feel very blessed to be on this journey and can't wait to meet our little one. It really is the best Christmas gift ever! :)

I thought it would be fun to do a little Q&A about my pregnancy so far!

How far along are you? 17 weeks!

When did you find out? Toward the end of September-1 week before we left for our trip to Central Europe! I was a little anxious going on the trip, but everything turned out fine. Since it was so early in my pregnancy, I wasn't too fatigued or sick.

How have your symptoms been? Not bad! I am very fortunate that I had minimal morning sickness. I have been a little tired, but not bad at all! Instead of the normal symptoms, I've had two bad colds during my pregnancy and both lasted awhile and were pretty rough. I'm just getting over the second one (and praying it's the last one!). Apparently your body has a tougher time fighting off germs while pregnant...something I never realized before!

Maternity clothes? Not yet...I've mostly been wearing tunic sweaters and leggings lately. Since my bump is still small, I can wear my normal clothing for now. Fashion is very bump friendly these days with all the over sized sweaters and tunics and leggings!

Any food cravings? Not yet, although I've eaten more soup in last few months than ever before! Maybe that's a craving!?

Gender? We will find out around 20 weeks...can't wait!

What do you miss the most? I really missed my normal coffee this fall (a.k.a. pumpkin spice!). I tried to stay away from caffeine during the first trimester. Now, I drink some, but not a lot.

What are you most looking forward to? Finding out the gender and preparing the nursery! And of course, all the adventures ahead when baby arrives!

Thanks so much for reading!!

  3. Congratulations Tamara! I remember getting very ill with a head cold too. It felt like forever for it to go away. But our lowered immunity has a purpose: so our body doesn't reject the baby growing inside. Try to take some comfort in that! I hope you recover soon and enjoy the rest of the pregnancy!
