Happy Saturday morning, friends! I'm so happy the weekend is here. Todd is finally home from weeks of traveling for work!! We are mainly doing work around the house this weekend but we are having some friends over later tonight.
This week the temps were in the 50's and mostly sunny here...AKA sweater poncho weather! A poncho with a long sleeve tee or turtleneck underneath is such an easy fall outfit to throw on and go! I love how ponchos can replace coats in fall before it gets too cold. They are warm and stylish and there are so many adorable styles out right now! I found this fringe poncho on a clearance rack at Marshall's recently. My favorite part is that it has arm holes so it stays put! I linked a few similar ponchos below that I really like...
I was going to wear a long sleeve black tee under the poncho, but at the last minute I went with my burgundy turtleneck from LOFT. I love how this turtleneck pulls out the burgundy in the poncho and adds a little extra warmth! Nordstrom has a very similar layering turtleneck for $39 (comes in a bunch of colors and stripes)!
Here's a look at the back of the poncho...
My leggings are the LOFT Seamed Ponte Leggings and they are the best! These leggings are thick and comfy and so flattering. They are regularly $49.50 but are currently 40% off! :)
When wearing over sized ponchos, skinny pants or leggings look best for bottoms (helps not to look frumpy).
For a bag, I carried my Kate Spade crossbody. I'm constantly reaching for this purse because it goes with everything! I kept my bag simple so it didn't distract from the poncho. If you're looking for a black Kate Spade crossbody bag, I recommend this one on Amazon ($119).
Over the knee boots are a major trend again this fall/winter! Mine are Ivanka Trump from Nordstrom and were a Christmas gift last year. They have an almost identical pair right now on sale and stocked in all sizes! These boots are comfy and don't slide down. FYI- they are form fitting on the legs, so I can only wear leggings or really skinny ankle jeans with them.
I've been wearing fedora hats all the time lately (as you probably know from recent posts)! This burgundy Steve Madden hat was one of those great T.J.Maxx finds. Since I have a lot of burgundy in my wardrobe, I'm constantly reaching for this hat. It's such a chic accessory for any fall look!
