Spring Yellow & Floral

TGIF!

Yes, I'm styling an off the shoulder top AGAIN. Last week, Express was running a 40% off entire store sale so I went in to look at the dresses. I left with this beautiful floral yellow blouse, instead! Yellow is one of my favorite colors for the spring/summer seasons and the floral pattern of this top is really unique. Of course, I also have a new found love for the off the shoulder style!

At first, I tried this top with my faux leather black leggings. I liked the look and it was appropriate for a night out, but I wasn't sold. I tried my LOFT white skinny jeans next, and it was the perfect combo. Even my hubby agreed! I wanted to style different bottoms for this post (since I've been living in the white skinnies), but the white skinny jeans just looked better. Case in point- white skinnies are an essential wardrobe piece this season! This top would also look great styled with black or white shorts and wedges in the summer. Or you could go with black skinny jeans...lots of possibilities! :)

My mom and I grabbed breakfast yesterday at our favorite local cafe and walked around town taking these photos. Isn't this map wall art really cool!?

I accessorized with gold jewelry. I absolutely adore these matching brass earrings and necklace from Trading Hope. Both pieces are crafted in India. The earrings are big but super lightweight! You can read about the mission of Trading Hope here- it's an awesome company (and the jewelry is beautiful!).

All other jewelry details are linked below.
How cute are the tie sleeves on this blouse?!
I carried my black Kate Spade crossbody bag that I got during the surprise sale in February. I could have added another color to this look with a bag, but I like the yellow/black/white combo and I didn't want to take away from the shirt. I do love yellow and blue together though, and a cobalt clutch would be really cute with this top. You can shop a similar Kate Spade crossbody here
I wore my black open toe booties to coordinate with the black in the blouse. I love open toe booties for the spring season! You could also pair this top with nude shoes- sandals, pumps or flats would work. These booties are from Nordstrom Rack, but if you are looking for a pair, here is similar version (Amazon).

  7. Is there any way that this top can be worn "on the shoulder" instead? I'd like to be able to wear it to work?

    1. Actually, yes it can! It tends to slide up a bit anyway onto the shoulders.
