Winter Neutrals: $8 Maternity Dress + Fringe Scarf

Today I have the perfect winter to spring neutral outfit (would be great for fall, too)...
I realize we are still in January and where I live, I would never have bare legs in the winter....BUT, I had to share this adorable maternity dress with you all now because it's on sale for $8.38 at Target!!! It is seriously the comfiest dress while also being figure flattering. You can see by the material around the belly that it accommodates a growing bump and can be worn all throughout pregnancy.
I love the Liz Lange maternity line at Target for affordable yet cute options for moms-to-be! Not only is this dress $8.38 (insert all the heart eye emojis), but it comes in several colors and stripes, both 3/4 sleeve and tank top. I bought this tank top one too and can't wait to wear it with a denim jacket! From what I see, some of the colors of these dresses are only online while others are only available in stores. I bought mine in stores, so head to your local Target and search the clearance racks ASAP!
To add a pop of color, I wore my rust colored fringe infinity scarf from Nordstrom. This scarf keeps going on sale and selling out so quickly!! They have a similar version in burgundy and camel colors that I really like, too! Scarves are my favorite winter accessories because they add interest to the most simple outfits.

Gender Reveal!

Cold Shoulder Top (only $29.49!) // Leggings // Similar OTK Boots // Earrings // Bracelet // Ring // Similar Necklace (25% off with code BOLD25) // Nude Lipstick (Kim K.W) // Nude Liner (Iconic Nude)

Hi friends!

On Friday evening, we found out that baby DeWire is a BOY! If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you've already seen our news, but I wanted to share a few photos and details from the party.

On Thursday morning, I had my 20 week ultrasound where they check the baby's anatomy and are able to see the gender. Praise God, everything looked great during the scan! That afternoon, I dropped an envelop (with the gender inside) off at a local bakery where I ordered cupcakes for the reveal. The baker baked vanilla and chocolate cupcakes with blue or pink icing in the middle (in our case, blue). Friday afternoon I picked up the cupcakes for the party that night. Not knowing the gender myself, I had to trust that everything went smoothly and that the correct gender was in the cupcakes! HA. Being the worrier I am, the thought of a mix up did cross my mind a few times. Fortunately, everything went well! At the party that night, we revealed the gender by biting into the cupcakes to see if the icing in the middle was blue or pink. No one knew ahead of time, none of our family at the party or Todd and I! This made it really exciting for everyone! As you know, the icing was BLUE. Todd was hoping for a boy, so as you can see from his hands up in the air, he was thrilled! I was happy either way! My shocked reaction was pretty funny, but I know I would have responded like that if it were pink, too (LOL). You think about what the gender will be for months, so when you actually know, it's shocking and surreal! Anyway, now that we know we are having a boy, I'm excited to plan the nursery and can't wait to buy a few cute baby clothes and SHOES! Baby shoes are so cute I can hardly stand it. I'm thinking a little pair of TOMS or Nike sneakers!? :)

I've also shared my outfit details from the party in this post. I absolutely LOVE this cold shoulder mock neck top from Nordstrom. The color is so feminine and the cold shoulder style is right on trend right now. It comes in light pink and olive and is on sale for $29.49 (all sizes are available, too)! I obviously wore the wrong color to the party, but I couldn't resist wearing pink when I saw this top online! I sized up for the bump and got a medium so I can wear it throughout the rest of my pregnancy. The oversized fit made it a nice tunic length for leggings, too. I styled the top with my black H&M leggings and Halogen gray over the knee boots. I love gray and light pink together! The boots are sold out, but Macy's has a pretty much identical pair (sooo pretty) on sale with an extra 15% off right (code TWODAY). Thank you so much for reading and for all your love and support!

My Favorite Tunic + the Comfiest Flats

Happy Tuesday, friends! I hope you enjoyed your weekend...especially everyone who got snow! We didn't have a ton of snow around here, but we did get some as you can see from these photos, and it is beautiful! We have an exciting week ahead...on Friday we will find out baby DeWire's gender! I can't believe it's almost here!! :)

Today I'm sharing a simple winter to spring outfit that is flattering and easy to recreate! This Pleione roll sleeve tunic is my absolute favorite!! The material is light yet soft and I love the tunic length. By the way, it's not maternity but works perfectly for my growing bump! This tunic comes in a bunch of colors and is on sale right now for $35.40 (plus free shipping). For reference, I'm wearing a small and my color is purple nectar.
For this outfit, I went with my LOFT ponte leggings for bottoms. Unfortunately, my days in these leggings are coming to an end...they aren't super maternity friendly! LOL. They are my favorite leggings though (I wear them a lot on here!), so I will be looking for a similar maternity pair asap! I can't recommend these leggings enough...they are thicker than a regular legging and much more flattering. They are full price right now, but LOFT runs sales quite often, so keep an eye out!
Here's a look at the length of the tunic from the back...definitely long enough for leggings but looks super cute with jeans, too!
I carried my Kate Spade Cement/Natural Snake Tote to coordinate with my snakeskin flats. I try not to be matchy matchy, but this was too perfect not to put together! Plus, I love how the off white bag stands out against the black and plum. It's fun and unexpected to carry a white bag during the wintertime!

I purchased these Sam Edelman 'Felicia' Flats on sale during the Nordstrom holiday shopping party. My friend raved about them and swore they were the comfiest flats EVER. She was right!! As soon as I tried them on, I completely agreed! They are way more supportive than other flats I've owned and they feel like slippers on my feet! This 'Felicia' flat comes in TONS of solid colors (suede and leather), as well as this snake skin and a leopard print (regular price). Most of these flats (including mine) are 30% off right now!
This gorgeous brass jewelry is from Hazel & Deene. I've worn several of their pieces on my blog before, so you may recognize the name! This company is awesome...they work with women in India by providing them with fair trade opportunities. All the jewelry is hand made by these women and their collections are SO PRETTY. I love supporting companies with a mission! My earrings are the Ophelia Earrings and bracelet is Esperanza Cuff. Be sure to check them out!
TOP: Nordstrom (Pleione) // PONTE PANT: Loft // FLATS: Nordstrom (Sam Edelman) // TOTE: Kate Spade // EARRINGS: Hazel & Deene // BRACELET: Hazel & Deene // WATCH: Fossil // LIPS: M.A.C. (rebel)

My Current Beauty Favorites

Happy Saturday, friends!! It's snowing again here today, and it's SO pretty.

Today I'm sharing my latest favorite beauty products! Most of these are somewhat new products for me, while some I've been using for a little while. I love reading honest reviews and recommendations on beauty products, so I thought it would be fun to put this post together for you all. Comment below if you have any questions!!

Wet Brush Shine ($9.99) // My mom just bought me this brush for Christmas and I looove it. It's great to detangle your hair and works well when applying dry shampoo. It's the brush all the hairdressers recommend at my salon! It's available at Target and comes in a few color options.

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer ($27) // Up until a few months ago, I wore bareMinerals powder foundation on a regular basis. I am a huge fan of this foundation, but due to acne scars, blemishes, and pale skin, I decided to try a liquid foundation for better coverage. After trying a few out, I discovered this Clinique 2 in 1 foundation + concealer. I'm really happy with this's lightweight, covers well, and is easy to apply with the applicator and a foundation brush to blend (see my favorite brush below). A little goes a long way too! I wear the alabaster shade.

Drybar 'Detox' Dry Shampoo ($13) // I recently started using this dry shampoo and I'm a huge fan of it!! I used to wash my hair often, but in the past year or so, I've been trying to only wash it 2-3 times a week. This dry shampoo absorbs oil, leaves your hair smelling great, and adds some lift to the roots! Make sure to shake the bottle well before use and for darker hair like mine, you'll have to rub it in a little more (a small amount of white residue shows until rubbed in).

IT Brushes for Ulta Airbrush Complexion Perfection Brush ($24) // This foundation brush was recommended by an employee at Ulta. I'm so glad I took her advice and tried it out! The angled flat brush top makes application so easy and blends my foundation really well (it's so soft, too!). It's a bit pricey, but lasts forever if you take care of it. A high quality foundation brush makes a huge difference!

eos Body Lotion ($3.99) // I got this eos body lotion for Christmas in a set with a mini lotion and lip balm. I LOVE the it's moisturizing, yet lightweight! It's super affordable, too. I keep the travel size in my purse for when I'm on the go (my hands get pretty dry in the winter).

Pureology Root Lift Spray Hair Mousse ($25) // I used to use the Redken Full Frame Mousse, which works well but leaves my hair feeling a little sticky. When I got a haircut a few months ago, my stylist used this Pureology mousse on me. He highly recommended it so I thought I would try it out on my own. I am sooo pleased with the results! It definitely adds volume to the roots of my hair, but is also lightweight and not sticky! It smells great, too. BTW, these hair products are pricey, but last a long time.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz Pencil ($21) // For years, I used the Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade with an angled brow brush. Over the past few months, I've seen bloggers rave about the brow wiz pencil, so I thought I would give it a try. I love it and have been using it daily! This pencil glides on smoothly and stays put without smudging. I still love my dipbrow pomade, but the pencil is less dramatic and better for every day use. For application, use the pencil tip to fill in areas where hair is lacking, then use the spooley to blend everything together. For reference, I wear the dark brown shade.

bareMinerals Prime Time Foundation Primer ($25) // A good foundation primer makes a HUGE difference for smooth foundation application and longer wear. I like how easy it is to apply and it dries quickly. It's also very hydrating for the skin! I've been using this primer for awhile and it lasts a long time.

bareMinerals Ready Luminizer Duo ($24) // I just recently got this highlighter after reading good reviews! I don't have much experience with highlighters, but I can definitely see a difference when I use them. I love the shades of this luminizer duo and they give a little glow without going overboard! After applying foundation and bronzer, I sweep a little highlighter over my cheek bones, bridge of my nose, forehead and eyes.

Thanks for stopping by and let me know if you try any of these awesome products!!

2016 Outfit Favorites

 Happy New Year!!

I can't believe we are in 2017 already. It sounds cliche, but time definitely flies by! Some years are obviously better or worse than others, and 2016 was not one of my better years. That being said, each year always has its ups and downs, and this year past year was no exception. There were a few highlights of 2016 worth mentioning...we took a few exciting trips, including our trip to Central Europe, I was given some good health reports that I am very grateful for, I had another wonderful year of teaching voice and musical theater, and best of all, we have been blessed with the gift of expecting our first child. I am so looking forward to the love, new adventures and even challenges that 2017 will bring!

I thought it would be fun to look back on my past year of blogging and share my outfit favorites from 2016! I've really enjoyed going through each month of old posts and picking a few of my favorites from each season. Here they are from oldest to most recent...

As always, thank you so much for reading and supporting this adventure of mine! I'm looking forward to continuing blogging in 2017 and sharing maternity clothes as well as pregnancy posts from time to time. Also, if you don't already, I would love for you to follow my social media pages (click the icons below)!

Have a great week!!
